Writing Tips

Welcome back to my “How To Plot Your Novel” video series. Today, we are covering the elements of the first half of Act Two.

Since the second act makes up the majority of your novel, most books and guides split it into two parts–before the Midpoint and after the Midpoint. Today, I’ll be taking you up through the Midpoint (or half-way point) of your novel.

This is part 4 of my 8-part series on outlining a novel, and I hope you guys are finding it useful so far. If you are new to this series, you’ll find a link to the other parts of the series near the bottom of this post, as well as a place to sign up and receive a free plotting guide, which we’ll be going through in detail throughout this series.

The Second Half of Act Two

In next week’s video, we’ll be taking a closer look at the second half of Act Two. This is going to be the main reaction of your character to the midpoint and everything that leads up to the final climax of the story.
